How to Train a Duck (and other animals)
Late-breaking news! We got a lead on some cuddly Khaki Campbell ducklings, so this summer, rather than training chickens as originally planned, we are going to train the ducklings. The rules of operant conditioning apply to all animals, and once you've learned the rules and practiced the physical skills on a duck, you'll know the trick to training any animal! Learn by training each other first, then we'll apply what you know to trick-training ducks! Kids learn how to mark and reinforce and thus "shape" behavior, and how to teach a duck. Don't worry, no ducks will be harmed in the making of this camp. The ducks live here, at Whole Dog Camp, but at the end of the summer, we might be looking for some homes for some of the ducks, so let us know if you are interested in keeping one year-round.
Sessions are limited to 4-6 children
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
through July and August
Ages 7 and 8 with parent, 9 and up unaccompanied.
